The first reach for your cell phone

We all know the situation: Your alarm clock rings, you wake up and reach for your cell phone to turn it off. The problem: in addition to your alarm clock, you now also have access to all kinds of apps and feeds - let the endless scrolling begin. Using your phone as an alarm clock makes it hard to resist the temptation to immediately check social media, messages or emails. So right after waking up, your stress level starts to rise, whether consciously or unconsciously. A simple but incredibly effective solution to this problem is to use a traditional alarm clock.

Clear separation of sleeping and waking time

By using a real alarm clock, we can leave our smartphone outside the bedroom and minimize the temptation to reach for it first thing in the morning. This creates a clearer separation between sleeping and waking time and leads to a calmer start to the day.

No more excuses

For many of us, the alarm function on our cell phone is the number one justification for taking it into the bedroom. Buying a real alarm clock eliminates this. Waking up in bed without a cell phone gives you the chance to start your day much clearer and calmer and not dive straight into the digital world.

Give it a try

Buy a classic alarm clock (analog or digital) and leave your cell phone in another room overnight. You'll be surprised how positively your morning - and perhaps your whole day - can change. Sometimes it's the small steps that make the biggest difference.
