Your focus under attack

You're in the middle of a task and your phone beeps or vibrates. It could be a new message, a like on Instagram or an update from an app you've never used before. Your concentration is gone in an instant. Constant notifications take us out of our workflow and distract us. By switching off unnecessary notifications, we can keep our focus better and be more productive.

Under pressure

It seems that every time our smartphone buzzes, we’re put on edge. We feel like we have to react right away, which can lead to stress and feeling overwhelmed. If we only allow the most important notifications - such as calls, text messages or emails from work (if really necessary) —we can make space for calm and serenity in our everyday lives.

Starting signal for scrolling

When you see a notification on your phone, it's often the start of an endless scrolling session. If I'm already on my phone, why not check out TikTok or Instagram real quick? Every notification makes us want to pick up our phone, which ultimately leads to us spending more time than we planned on it.

This is how you do it

You don't have to turn off all notifications. Over the next few days, just take a look at which apps send you which notifications. Then think about whether these notifications are really necessary. It's about finding a balance that helps you stay focused and not miss important information at the same time.
